Subin Bhattarai (born 5 Nov 1982) is a Nepali author and Columnist. Bhattarai’s novel Summer Love was the trendsetter and popular among youths. Summer love (novel) was Bhattarai’s second book and first novel. His first book was an anthology of short stories, namely KathakiPaatra.

Subin Bhattarai was born in Khotang in eastern Nepal. A year after he was brought to Kathmandu. His father was a government official and mother, a housewife. He completed his Masters degree in Environmental Science from Tribhuvan University in the year 2005. Since childhood Bhattarai has been influenced by B.P Koirala, Paarijat, Dhruba Chandra Gautam, Mark Twain, Charles Dickens and Anton Chekhov.

Bhattarai started writing since he was in School at the age of 10. He started writing poems and recited several poems in Radio Nepal. He started to act in several dramas as child artist and co-hosted the popular Child Program “Hatemalo” in Radio Nepal. His first book “Kathaki Paatra” an anthology of short stories was published in 2011. The stories revolve around the urban youths and love. Though commercially an average, Bhattarai was critically acclaimed in his first book. He was then inspired to write a youth centered novel.
